Alyned

Why 'Alyned'? Beyond the play on words with my name, I believe that life is all about 'alynment'.

The word 'aligned' means giving support, sharing a common goal or sharing a point of view. It means having things in their appropriate relative positions and to come together in agreement or alliance. That is my vision for Alyned. Providing a service to people where there is an alliance with your goals, body and mind, and having your own personal cheerleader who is on the same page.

I am a Integrative Health Practitioner (IHP), Nutritionist and Life Coach. I'm a lover of all things natural and a self-proclaimed personal development junkie.

My purpose in life is to coach, teach and support people to get from where they are to where they want to be and support them to fall in love with the process of becoming their best and healthiest self. I help people create a healthier lifestyle based on small and gradual, yet significant changes that are compatible with their existing commitments. I believe this process is about knowledge, implementation, accountability and consistency.

These small changes become consistent lifestyle habits that create a healthy mind and body. I believe that people have the resources within them to implement the necessary changes to create the life they want and be the best version of themselves. As an Integrative Health Practitioner, Nutritionist and Life Coach, I can support you in accessing those internal resources.

About the founder

Why Integrative Health/Nutrition/Coaching?

Hi, I'm Amy - the face behind Alyned.

I was 20 years old teaching English in Thailand to school students when I woke up one morning with a head ache and blindness in my left eye. It was only a few short months after that I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS).

This diagnosis of MS was the beginning of my health journey.

There was a time when getting out of bed to get food was almost a full-day activity and showering used up more energy than I had to spare. Walking was difficult and I was wall crawling to get around my house. This is no longer my reality. I decided I didn't want to be in a constant state of crisis and started to learn about health and wellbeing.

Since my diagnoses of MS in 2015, I have educated myself on what the human body needs to function optimally. I have studied the importance of consuming quality food, sleep and exercise. I have studied and implemented calming strategies to relax the nervous system. These studies have given me qualifications in life coaching, nutrition, integrative health and yoga.

I have read numerous books, attended many natural and conventional doctors appointments, taken dietary supplements and had laboratory tests completed. I've experienced pressure from the medical community for not treating my illness the conventional way, and I have been fearful that 'going rouge' would cause serious negative long-term effects. With experience from being the 'sick girl' and now the practitioner, I know I will be able to help you on your journey.

I have studied integrative health which includes aspects of Ayurvedic medicine, functional medicine, orthomolecular medicine, traditional naturopathy, eastern philosophy, Chinese medicine, herbalism, and bioregulatory medicine. I have also studied nutrition and sports nutrition through an Australian Government recognised provider and life coaching through a school recognised by the International Coaching Federation.

My education allows me access to functional medicine laboratory tests for my clients which provides you with your own bio-individual data making our time together very targeted to your individual needs.

I have invested extensively into my health education so you don't need to!

It takes time to learn and implement new ideas, and having your own personal cheerleader on your health journey will make the difficult days that much easier, and more fun! :)
